Kumbhkaran Sarkar: Interesting, innovative forms of protest needed to draw media, government's attention

Protests are held to draw attention of government, media and other sections of the society.

But normal protests no longer catch fancy of people.

Who is interested in publishing the pictures of people carrying banners, raising slogans and the same dull protests.

Hence, people go for innovative protests. Here, a man dressed as 'Kumbhakaran'.They beat drums, shouted, pinch him, even spear used to prick him but he didn't get up.

The Kumbhakaran here is the Madhya Pradesh government. Contract teachers who want government's attention, organised this protest.

Naturally, newspapers had to take note of it. 'Ajit bhai' played the role of Kumbhakaran. The protest was held in Khargone in western Madhya Pradesh.
